Dance for Musical Theatre Workshop
Brush Up, or Build your Stage Management Skillset in this Workshop Series.
Two, 2hr sessions will get you set up as the communicative and organizational core of a theatrical production. Ideally participants have some working knowledge of school, amateur, community, or professional production elements within the theatre, and have experienced some back stage work. The stage manager's job is to bridge the creative vision of the director with the technical execution of the crew.
These workshops are designed to work you through Pre-Production (call sheets, contact sheets, script breakdowns, rehearsal schedules, taping floor etc), Rehearsals/Technical Rehearsals (recording blocking, tracking props/furniture, prompt books, calling the show etc), and Performances (maintaining the artistic integrity and replicability of the show throughout a run, and managing safety on and backstage etc).
This is a fast-paced workshop series. We request that participants be over the age of 18. Special requests may be granted with appropriate references. Prospective students under the age of 18, please email info@shepherdprivatecoaching.com to see if you are suitable for the course work.

Check out this 6 week workshop with Miss Jen where you can boost your dance skillset, your on stage confidence, and have an absolute blast dancing to your favourite show tunes!
Dance for Musical Theatre is a storytelling art form that blends movement, acting, and music to reveal a character's emotion and drive the plot. It is not a single technique and will draw heavily from jazz, but also ballet, tap, modern, and street dance styles based on the tone and era of the production number.
This workshop's final number will be featured in the Holiday Dance Recital on December 10, 2026.
These workshops are designed for all ages and all abilities. We do however request that participants be a minimum age of 10 years old so that basic skillsets are available to them.
