Our Performing Arts Programming covers the remaining performing arts classes available for registration at the studio. These sessions, like DramaTots, are weekly classes. Each class builds upon skills learned in the previous weeks. Participants will share their cumulative work at the Spring Recital. These programs are billed monthly on the 1st of every month for upcoming lessons.
This weekly course is geared at our littlest performers - who may be small in size, but are certainly MIGHTY in confidence! Participants will work together with their instructor to learn and explore the parts of the stage, and difference stage techniques and concepts through play. They will be invited to share their explorations with us for our Spring Recital. Participants can expect to sing, dance, act, and more in this class and should dress comfortably!
Our Junior Performing Arts students work together with their instructor to create dynamic stage movement, explore Laban Movement Analysis, create character and scene study, and more. Their main objective is to explore the world around them, and use it to create motion, sound, movement, theatre, and more!
Our Intermediate Performing Arts students will work alongside their instructor to create characters, scenes, movement, and song that explores their body in time and space. They will explore what it means to be human, in this world, and any of the created worlds of the staged works they will use for classes.
Our Senior Performing Arts students will be guided by their instructor into scene studies, character development, and more; including film technique, voice acting, audition technique and preparation for working in the theatre/arts community. They will have ample opportunities to perform, and explore stage work. There will also be opportunities for these students to take on some of the "behind the scenes" roles for our MainStage productions, and recitals!!!
Our Improv Class is designed for students aged 13+ to explore the world of "Yes, and..." as they learn to adapt, play, and expand upon one another's ideas, challenges, and stories. They'll explore the fundamentals of sketch comedy, improvisation, standup and more as they learn how to craft a solid joke and present/communicate it to an audience.
This section is dedicated to our Music School side of programming. These classes are offered weekly, and are billed on the 1st of every month for the upcoming classes. Private Lessons depend entirely on instructor availability. Group Lessons are at the times listed below.
We take great pride in our talented and experienced piano teachers here at Shepherd Private Coaching. Their approach is to meet each student where they are at, and guide them through their musical challenges. We use a variety of methods as a base for instruction and can tailor our approach to each individual student. For advanced students 45 minute lessons are available. Your instructor will let you know when this becomes necessary in your child's study.
Our 30 minute voice lessons are geared at introductory singers/vocalists from age 5 and upwards. For our younger musicians we focus on fun, expression, and basic singing etiquette. As our vocalists progress we introduce further technique and training, including theory. These sessions are generally cumulative and occur weekly, however a 30 minute audition prep. session can be booked at the discretion of the instructor.
Our 60 minute voice lessons are aimed towards our more mature students, as we tackle more complex pieces, theory lessons, and prepare our students for live performance, auditions, and life in the music community. This length of class is also ideal for students wishing to pursue examinations, or further study in music.
